Vaughn Oliver - Visceral Pleasures

Here is my first body of research into visceral style art and design. Vaughn Oliver is a well established name in the industry due to his work with band such as Pixies, these pieces are taken from the book named 'Visceral Pleasures' by Rick Poynor.

Th quality of this work speaks for itself. These images will be key in helping me to achieve a good quality and sophistication to my own images.

Linder Sterling Commercial Work

These are some album covers and some other commercial pieces by Linder Sterling. These are to give me an insight into promotional work for bands as I will be doing similar works for my own project.

Linder Sterling Collage/Photomontage

This work is some of my favourite research. The way that these images are put together will be an essential part of the thinking behind my own print campaign for this project.

The way certain parts of the body are exaggerated and the surreal nature of its composition will be key when it comes to making my own images.

Punk - Jamie Reid

I had a brief look at some of Jamie Reid's work due to it's connection to Punk Rock and the anti establishment attitude.

The most striking thing about it is the anarchy and sarcasm, however i don't want my work to look to much like a Sex Pistols cover, so i'm probably going to focus on the personality behind this work rather than it's imagery.

Grunge Style Photography & Art

I researched this style of imagery specifically to get inspiration for my interactive piece. Because it will consist of a number of different rooms/environments, it is important that I achieve a dark and grungy style for my images to give a certain atmosphere for the user.

I have a taken a large collection of photo's (see disc, Photo's folder) which I will be using to make montage and compositions that will eventually be used for the interactive piece and maybe also for the print campaign.

The images below are selected from different websites, which contain work from artists who aren't necessarily 'known', but managed to find some really nice images.
